Operations Manager
The Operations Manager plays a key role in overseeing the daily activities of dispatchers and drivers at Transam Carriers, ensuring smooth operations and providing excellent service to customers. This position is responsible for optimizing transportation services, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing resources effectively to meet business goals. Additionally, the Operations Manager ensures that all activities are accurately logged into the company’s transportation management system.
Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations in a dynamic, fast-paced transportation environment
- Implement and optimize transportation routing and fleet management processes
- Monitor and maintain high service levels to exceed customer expectations
- Interview, train, and coach dispatchers, drivers, and support staff, fostering skill development
- Coordinate schedules and communicate effectively with drivers and staff to ensure full 24-hour shift coverage
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues, supporting dispatchers in day-to-day challenges
- Ensure that dispatchers and drivers have the necessary tools and resources to perform their tasks effectively
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any billing and payroll issues within your area of responsibility

Our requirements:
- Minimum 4 years in transportation, logistics, or a similar field
- College diploma or relevant certification
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external clients
- Proficiency in dispatch management service software and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations

We're reaching out to individuals with a drive for excellence and a strong commitment to safety. The trips are of 2- or 4-day durations, covering approximately 10,000 miles per month. Cross-border is a must. Start from our truck yard in Etobicoke, ON.
